Looks on the night !

Live model.

Below you can see some images that were took on the night, I had my model dressed in the space cadet outfit I had purchased, however when I was speaking to my model about the day and the running order of everything I mentioned to her that I would need her to bring a pair of boots that she feels comfortable in due to the length of time she would be standing, on the day of showcase she informed me that she hadn't brought the boots therefore she had to wear the socks and plimsolls she came in, I was really disappointed in this because it made the outfit look weird and especially because I spent so much money on the outfit. I decided to not let that effect the night as it had been so many weeks worth of stress.

As I was applying the prosthetic piece I had a few problems , one was due to the colouring of the prosthetic piece as I decided to buy a premade prosthetic piece rather than make my own, I decided to do this as I didn't want to risk making a prosthetic piece of this kind and it not turn out well as I have not been taught nor do I really know how to make a piece like this. The prosthetic piece came with some latex around to help blend it into the skin however it was coloured lighter than my models skin tone therefore I had to spend a majority of my time trying to match it up however this was much more difficult than expected and in the images you can see that it isn't the correct skin tone.I had to come to terms that I would be able to get the exact tone simply because the prosthetic piece came coloured.

Another issue I had when applying the prosthetic piece was that due to the skin conditions that my model has that was oily therefore the latex was being eaten away by the oil on her skin this led the application to become very uneven and not blended properly, knowing that I couldn't present my model like that I decided to change my look slightly, I decided to apply some scab blood around the seas if my appliance to hid the parts of the latex that was being eaten away, i decided to use scab blood as it is a much thicker and stickier substance than normal blood therefore it will stick better onto the skin and appliance, it would also last longer . By doing this I managed to hide the edges however I didn't like how it looked. I accompanied my prosthetic piece with silver eyeshadow which I feel look beautiful contrasted with my models skin tone and I teamed that up with a bright pink lipstick in order to match the outfit.

If I was to do this look again I would focus more on apply the prosthetic as well as colouring it and also the lips as I was in a rush to do the lipstick and liner due to being at the venue all day setting up and then when I was back at the venue with my model it was a rush helping everyone get ready as well as my model. So if I were ever to do showcase again I would put my own work first.

My birthday concept

My birthday concept was my favourite photo out of the two, I feel like the colours stood out very well especially in the venue as it was quite dark which then made my image stand out, I feel like my image drawed people in which is exactly why I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try something new. "Change" Concept

My change concept I personally feel was my weakest, I loved my concept however the image didn't portray that, the photographer I used edited the images too much therefore the neck special effects which was meant to be the main focus was blurred therefore detail was lost. However my look was backed up by an amazing article that I found that I hope people read and was enlightened on. Have a look here for my full evaluation on this look as well as links of my planning.

post apocalyptic charity shop chic catwalk video

This concept was shown in the same room where our change concept was, it was played on a loop which is exactly the type of style we were going for, seeing this concept playing was really bittersweet as we created this months before the showcase module started so to see if being played finally at our end of year showcase was really sentimental and it seemed like all our guests really enjoyed it as well. You can see my planning for this concept here
